NX Filtration is supporting its long-standing partner BOSAQ in the deployment of emergency drinking water solutions in Ukraine, contributing its hollow fibre nanofiltration (HFNF) membrane technology to BOSAQ’s humanitarian initiative, Water Heroes.

The initiative is focused on providing safe and reliable drinking water to communities affected by the ongoing conflict. As part of this effort, BOSAQ has developed the Q-Drop Yellowstone system — a compact, modular water purification unit designed for rapid deployment in disaster and crisis environments.

Powered by NX Filtration’s HFNF membrane technology, each Q-Drop Yellowstone unit is capable of producing up to 1,000L of safe drinking water per hour from borehole sources. The systems are currently deployed in key locations including Kharkiv and Mykolaiv, where consistent access to clean water remains a critical need.

The stand-alone systems offer a sustainable alternative to bottled water by reducing dependence on logistical supply chains and minimising plastic waste. Their robust design also ensures reliable performance under challenging operating conditions, supported by ongoing technical assistance from BOSAQ engineers on the ground.

NX Filtration’s contribution enables high-quality, energy-efficient treatment of complex water sources, reinforcing the role of advanced membrane technology in emergency response scenarios.

This initiative has been made possible through the collaboration of multiple partners and stakeholders, including AquaFlanders, Aquaduin, De Watergroep, Montea, Georg Fischer, Rotary Ronse, NX Filtration, and a network of supporting donors.
