Endress+Hauser has expanded its footprint in the US with the opening of two new facilities in Indiana and Pennsylvania, reinforcing its long-term investment strategy in one of its largest markets while strengthening collaboration with regional sales and service partners.

The company has invested approximately €44m in a new 9,800m2 HQ in Greenwood, Indiana, alongside a second 8,200m2 facility in Edgmont, Pennsylvania. Together, the sites are expected to enhance customer support, technical training and regional service capabilities.

“With the new buildings, we are strengthening our local presence and ensuring we are close to our customers. In doing so, we are laying the foundation for sustainable growth,” said CEO Peter Selders.

The Greenwood development consolidates Endress+Hauser US HQ with long-standing sales and service partner George E. Booth Co., bringing together around 190 employees across sales, service, engineering, project delivery and corporate functions. The campus also includes production facilities for flow, level, pressure and temperature measurement technologies, where Endress+Hauser employs nearly 670 people.

Beyond operational capacity, the facility reflects the company’s focus on workforce development and sustainability. An integrated design and innovation studio will support STEM education through partnerships with local institutions, while geothermal heating, solar panels and rainwater management systems have contributed to the building achieving LEED Gold certification.

Meanwhile, the new Edgmont facility, developed with regional partner Eastern Controls, will serve customers across the northeastern US with process instrumentation and automation solutions. The site also features an expanded Process Training Unit (PTU) to deliver hands-on customer training and will host the annual Northeast Community Career+Education Forum, aimed at strengthening links between industry and education.

“As a family-owned company, we stand for long-term thinking, reliability and partnership-based collaboration – values that are also reflected in these construction projects,” said Steven Endress, president of the supervisory board.

Business perspective

The expansion highlights Endress+Hauser’s continued commitment to decentralising customer support while investing in regional technical expertise and talent development. Rather than simply increasing physical capacity, the new facilities strengthen the company’s partner-led sales model, improve access to training and engineering resources, and position it to support growing demand for process automation across US manufacturing, energy, water and life sciences sectors.
