Veolia has secured €343m in water technology bookings for the microelectronics sector since the start of the year, highlighting strong growth in one of the world’s fastest-expanding industrial markets where reliable water infrastructure is becoming increasingly critical.

The bookings include two major contracts worth a combined €243m with a leading semiconductor manufacturer. In Singapore, Veolia will supply an ultrapure water (UPW) system for a new semiconductor fabrication facility, while in the US, it will deliver advanced wastewater reclamation and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) treatment for an existing manufacturing campus.

The projects reinforce Veolia’s strategy of providing end-to-end water solutions for chipmakers, covering everything from UPW production to wastewater treatment, reuse and resource recovery. The company said the wins align with its GreenUp strategic plan, which identifies microelectronics as a key growth market.

As semiconductor production expands globally alongside rising demand for AI and data centres, water management is becoming a critical enabler of manufacturing resilience. Semiconductor fabrication requires volumes of UPW while producing complex wastewater streams that must be treated and, increasingly, recycled to meet sustainability targets.

Veolia aims to generate €1bn in annual revenue from the data centre and microelectronics sectors by 2030, leveraging its portfolio of water, energy and hazardous waste solutions to support the industry’s continued expansion.
