New features released in the new version of the FIDOSmart app allow leak technicians to run simultaneous 2-point correlations between up to 10 sensors, even when there is no phone signal.
The FIDOSmart app harnesses the power of FIDO AI to reduce nonrevenue water (NRW) at multiple stages of the leak investigation process. With it, engineers can use the same portable low-cost sensors as mobile data loggers, correlators, ground microphones and more.
FIDO AI instantly analyses acoustic data from pipeline networks in any material to detect leaks accurately, and assess their size.
The app lets users interact with FIDO AI, FIDO sensors, and Relay IoT comms devices in multiple languages in the field and start getting results fast. Guided workflows and a GPT assistant are built-in to minimise the need for training. Most users are up and running in the hour.
The three new features in version 3.3.0 of the FIDOSmart are multi 2-point correlation, offline correlation, and a relay control centre.
FIDO global technical director Paul Parr said: “The new version of the FIDOSmart app is another great leap forward for AI-powered leak detection, allowing users even more visibility and functionality.
“Multi 2-point correlation will be a gamechanger for leak technicians, allowing them to run multiple correlations at once, rerun correlations between different sensor positions to confirm leak location and even alter pipe material later in light of new information.”
This also allows leak location over a wider area and reduces the time taken for in-field leak investigations.
On the other hand, the offline correlation allows app users to carry out single or multiple correlations even in areas of low or no phone signal, ensuring uninterrupted leak investigations. Verified results will be received once back online.
Finally, the relay control centre gives users control and visibility of FIDO Relay IoT comms devices in-field. It delivers traceability for in-field autonomy, enhanced efficiency and performance.
App version 3.3.0 is available on the App Store and Google Play store. While free to download, it requires a subscription to one of FIDO’s advanced leak detection and network monitoring products — Leak Locate and Network Monitor. Each subscription requires a one-off hardware purchase and includes unlimited data processing.
