Aquatech has agreed to acquire UAE-based Metito Chemical Solutions (METICHEM), strengthening its industrial water services business across the Middle East, North Africa and South East Asia.
The acquisition expands Aquatech’s capabilities beyond water treatment technologies by adding specialty water-treatment chemicals and operations and maintenance (O&M) services to its portfolio. METICHEM will continue to operate as a standalone business within Aquatech’s global services division.
Founded on nearly seven decades of operational expertise developed through Metito’s O&M business, METICHEM has grown into a regional provider of industrial, municipal and commercial water services. The company employs around 700 people and manages service contracts across 46 countries, offering performance chemicals alongside full-scope O&M solutions.
For Aquatech, the acquisition strengthens its position in the growing industrial water services market by enabling it to offer customers an integrated water lifecycle proposition spanning treatment technologies, speciality chemicals, digital optimisation and long-term plant operations.
“This acquisition unites two companies that share the same vision: to optimise water systems through innovation, safety, and performance excellence,” said Devesh Sharma, Aquatech CEO.
“Their strong presence across the Middle East and Asia, combined with our global water technology and digital platforms, will enable our industrial water customers to maximise efficiency, reliability, and sustainability at any site, no matter how big or small.”
Andrew Parke, executive vice-president for services at Aquatech, said the deal reflects the company’s strategy of strengthening its global services platform through regional expertise.
“This integration reflects a deliberate strategy to enhance how we support customers by bringing together deep regional expertise and global delivery to drive performance, reliability, and long-term value.”
For METICHEM, the acquisition provides access to Aquatech’s technology portfolio while broadening its technical capabilities.
“We are thrilled to be part of Aquatech. This merger further expands our technical offering and accelerates our mission to deliver smarter, safer, and more sustainable water solutions,” said Mike Abla, managing director of METICHEM.
The transaction also reinforces Aquatech’s presence across Asia, building on its longstanding operations in India and its recent acquisition of Singapore-based Century Water. Together, the additions position the company as a larger industrial water services partner for customers across Asia and the Middle East.
